Experiential learning is at the heart of the College of Nursing and Public Health.

From cultural immersion and study abroad initiatives to practicing in the Nursing Resource Center to earning dedicated education units through our community partnerships, you will truly benefit from the practical experience necessary to become a leader in the field. You can earn membership in the Alpha Omega chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, the nursing honor society, or join various student clubs and societies.

In Fall 2013, we broke ground on the Nexus Building and Welcome Center, the home to the College that features several ultramodern simulation labs for you to hone your assessment skills and help develop sound clinical judgment.

Expand Your Experiences

Clinical Education and Simulation Lab

Offering a safe environment to perform realistic scenarios where students can practice and hone their critical thinking and decision-making skills. With seven clinical examination rooms, including a pediatric exam room, a delivery room and home care setting, our simulation lab offers immersive experiences in patient care.

Partnerships

A strong network of leaders in the field provides nursing internship opportunities and clinical rotations for our public health and nursing students.

Peer Mentoring Program

A collaboration between the Office of Academic Services and Retention and the College of Nursing and Public Health.

Sigma Theta Tau: International Honor Society

Sigma Theta Tau is an international nursing honor society that provides recognition and opportunities for the world’s top nurses.

Student Clubs and Societies

As a future healthcare professional, joining a student club or professional organization will help you to grow and advance your nursing career, build your network and could provide pathways for scholarship and research funding.

Study Abroad

Life-changing immersive experiences empower our students and faculty to advocate for health equity for all people worldwide. The Center for International Education at Adelphi can help you find a study abroad program that is right for you.

Adelphi played a role in helping me develop professional relationships, connect with mentors and meet some of my best friends…I wouldn’t have been able to go through this experience without them and their support every step of the way.
