Undergraduate Programs

Students prepare for an operation
Introduction
The School of Nursing offers two distinct programs leading toward a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in nursing.
  • The basic curriculum is for students who seek a B.S. and also need to meet the New York State licensing requirements as a Registered Professional Nurse.

  • The second curriculum is specifically designed for registered nurses who intend to pursue a B.S. in nursing. Students may enroll in ASCEND, the one-day per week R.N. to B.S. program.
The programs combine the study of theory, research, clinical practice, and community service. Dedicated to the highest professional standards, these programs instill an appreciation for cultural diversity and an understanding of the different applications of health care in a wide range of settings. Both programs emphasize the nurse's role in health promotion, long-term care, research, advocacy, teaching, change, and management.
