PATH Nursing Program

PATH Nursing Program Requirements & Prerequisites

Motivated students from any undergraduate major are eligible to apply to this program. However, students who have not completed the required prerequisite courses as part of their prior undergraduate program must successfully complete those courses prior to applying to the PATH program.

Prior to taking any nursing classes, you must have completed the following 10 courses (you may have already taken many of these for your first degree; some restrictions apply).
    • Anatomy and Physiology I and II (within 10 years)
    • Microbiology (within 10 years)
    • Chemistry I and Chemistry II or Chemistry 109 (within 10 years)
    • Pathophysiology (within 10 years)
    • Genetics (within 10 years)
    • Statistics 
    • Developmental Psychology through the Lifespan
    • Nutrition (2 credit nursing course)

*A grade of C+ or better must be achieved in all prerequisite science courses and labs. Only one course grade less than C+ is permitted in any prerequisite science course.

An academic adviser in the Office of University Admissions is available to review your transcript to determine if prerequisite courses taken at another institution are transferable.
