Alternative Spring Break Program
March 11-March 16, 2013
Experience the natural beauty and spirituality of this natural wonderland while working with one of Costa Rica's finest hospitals that provides medical, deontological, and psychological attention to lower-income families.
The students will participate in Health Assessments and Education experiences of a indigent population of adult and children refugees in a clinic and school setting.

Transcultural Experience Native American Reservation in Arizona
May 20-24, 2013
Come explore cultural, socio-economic and healthcare issues on a Native American reservation. This program includes anthropological, historical and environmental components through an experiential process, parting with established healthcare programs offered to the Hopi and Diné/Navajo tribes of Native Americans.
Course:
Transcultural Experience on a Native American Reservation in Arizona, NUR 0302-202, 1 credit – students must register for this course in order to participate in the program. Some class sessions will be held on the Adelphi campus prior to and upon return from Arizona.

Program Cost:
The program fee is estimated at $1750. The program includes: air transportation, airport transfers, transportation throughout the program, lodging (doubles and triples) in Tuba City and Sedona, a tour of the Grand Canyon, meals. Additional costs include a $150 Adelphi Study Abroad Fee and other personal expenses. This course is considered part of the spring term and students only pay additional tuition if they are part-time (11 credits or fewer) or go over 17 credits.
