Course Objectives
NUR 465: Alterations in Holistic Integrity Managed in the Community (Clinical)
Upon completion of this course, the student is able to:
  1. recognize the dynamic interrelationship between people and environment as determinants of health.
  2. utilize the conceptual model of the natural history of disease.
  3. relate health statistics data to the diagnosis of community health problems.
  4. apply epidemiologic principles to selected health problems in nursing practice at all three levels of prevention.
  5. assess a family, a group, and a community based on knowledge of systems theory.
  6. interpret assessment data to identify health strengths/risks of individuals, groups/aggregates, families, and the community.
  7. explore the cultural patterns of aggregates coping with daily living in stress and crisis situations.
  8. explore principles of collaboration of health care in assessing the need for health services and health resources.
  9. examine the existing functions and roles of the nurse in health promotion and maintenance, tertiary care, and community health planning in varied community settings.
  10. develop a holistic nursing care plan for a family and a community.
