Course Objectives
NUR 455: Chronic Care
Upon completion of this course, the student is able to:
  1. demonstrate a holistic approach to caring for adult clients and families with physiologic alterations.
  2. determine appropriate holistic nursing assessments for adult clients with selected physiologic alterations.
  3. formulate specific nursing diagnoses for adult clients with selected physiologic alterations.
  4. determine appropriate holistic nursing interventions which support optimal well-being in adult clients with selected physiologic alterations.
  5. describe and apply nursing research findings applicable to the holistic nursing care of adult clients with physiologic alterations.
  6. develop a body of nursing knowledge enabling one to manage holistic nursing care of adult clients with selected physiologic alterations.
  7. develop and implement a comprehensive client teaching plan.
  8. describe and apply ethical and legal considerations relevant to adult clients with physiologic alterations.
  9. utilize critical thinking, research data, nursing informatics, and other resources to deliver holistic health care to adult clients with physiologic alterations.
  10. use appropriate technologies in the process of assessing and monitoring children.
  11. assist clients to achieve a peaceful end of life.
  12. demonstrate sensitivity to personal and cultural influences on the individual's reactions to the illness experience.
  13. demonstrate the ability to prioritize nursing care.
