Course Objectives
NUR 413: Promoting Wellness
Upon completion of this course, the student is able to:
  1. incorporate concepts of nutrition into a holistic health plan.
  2. determine appropriate nutritional assessment for self, clients, and others.
  3. articulate economic and ethical issues impacting on an individual's or a group's nutritional status.
  4. describe current legal regulations and agencies governing nutrients.
  5. articulate a plan of education for an individual or group regarding nutritional therapy.
  6. identify specific nutritional problems and strengths in an individual and group.
  7. articulate holistic interventions which support optimal well-being for people with nutritional challenges.
  8. identify age-related nutritional risks and describe appropriate nutritional health promotion activities.
  9. describe current research relating to food and food additives and supplements.
  10. use critical thinking, research data, informatics, and other resources to describe holistic health care for individuals with nutritional challenges.
