Course Objectives
NUR 400: Research in Nursing
Upon completion of this course, the student is able to:
  1. recognize the essential processes of quantitative and qualitative research.
  2. describe the role of research on the practice of professional nursing practice.
  3. employ the research process in identifying and discussing clinical problems and problem-solving strategies.
  4. demonstrate critical thinking in evaluating the usefulness of selected clinical research studies.
  5. apply the steps in the research process to support therapeutic care to promote, protect, and restore health for patients.
  6. identify appropriate evidence-based resources from the Internet.
  7. discuss nursing research concerns related to ethical, philosophical, and professional issues.
  8. incorporate research/nursing science into continuing professional development.
  9. discuss the role of the professional nurse in knowledge generation for nursing.
