NUR 400: Research in Nursing
Upon completion of this course, the student is able to:
- recognize the essential processes of quantitative and qualitative research.
- describe the role of research on the practice of professional nursing practice.
- employ the research process in identifying and discussing clinical problems and problem-solving strategies.
- demonstrate critical thinking in evaluating the usefulness of selected clinical research studies.
- apply the steps in the research process to support therapeutic care to promote, protect, and restore health for patients.
- identify appropriate evidence-based resources from the Internet.
- discuss nursing research concerns related to ethical, philosophical, and professional issues.
- incorporate research/nursing science into continuing professional development.
- discuss the role of the professional nurse in knowledge generation for nursing.
