NUR 365: Alterations in the Holistic Integrity of the Childbearing Family (Clinical)
Upon completion of this course, the student is able to:
- demonstrate a holistic approach to caring for the childbearing family.
- determine appropriate holistic nursing assessments for childbearing families experiencing complications and threats to health.
- formulate specific nursing diagnoses for childbearing families.
- determine appropriate holistic nursing interventions which support optimal well-being in childbearing families.
- describe and apply nursing research findings applicable to the holistic nursing care of childbearing families.
- differentiate low-risk and high-risk pregnancy status.
- describe and apply ethical and legal considerations relevant to the childbearing family.
- utilize critical thinking, research data, nursing informatics, and other resources to deliver holistic health care to the childbearing family.
- demonstrate competence in nursing management of the childbearing family.
- demonstrate competence in nursing management of the normal newborn from birth to discharge.
- develop an awareness of the roles of the nurse in prevention and promotion of health.
