Course Objectives
NUR 301: Theory in Nursing
Upon completion of this course, the student is able to:
  1. describe the purpose of theory.
  2. describe the process of theory in development.
  3. describe the historical evolution of theory development in nursing
  4. describe the interrelationship between nursing theory, research, and practice.
  5. describe selected theoretical nursing models and their relevance for holistic nursing practice.
  6. describe how the application of nursing theory in research and practice is guided by ethical principles and legal standards.
  7. describe selected theories and models of leadership and, health promotion.
  8. apply a theoretical model to a current clinical client.
