Course Objectives
NUR 300: Pharmacology: A Holistic Approach
Upon completion of this course, the student is able to:
  1. incorporate concepts of pharmacology into a holistic nursing care plan.
  2. determine appropriate nursing assessments for clients using selected pharmacologic agents.
  3. formulate specific nursing diagnoses for clients using selected pharmacologic agents.
  4. incorporate psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural aspects in the care of clients using selected pharmacologic agents.
  5. articulate holistic nursing interventions which support optimal well-being for clients using selected pharmacologic agents.
  6. describe current legal regulations and agencies governing the care of clients using pharmacologic agents.
  7. use critical thinking, research data, nursing informatics, and other resources to describe holistic health care for clients using medications.
  8. articulate a plan of education for the client regarding drug therapy
  9. describe the ethical issues inherent in the holistic care of clients using drugs.
