Course Objectives
NUR 300: Pharmacology: A Holistic Approach
Upon completion of this course, the student is able to:
- incorporate concepts of pharmacology into a holistic nursing care plan.
- determine appropriate nursing assessments for clients using selected pharmacologic agents.
- formulate specific nursing diagnoses for clients using selected pharmacologic agents.
- incorporate psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural aspects in the care of clients using selected pharmacologic agents.
- articulate holistic nursing interventions which support optimal well-being for clients using selected pharmacologic agents.
- describe current legal regulations and agencies governing the care of clients using pharmacologic agents.
- use critical thinking, research data, nursing informatics, and other resources to describe holistic health care for clients using medications.
- articulate a plan of education for the client regarding drug therapy
- describe the ethical issues inherent in the holistic care of clients using drugs.
