FAQs about the NET |

What it is
It is a computer based exam testing the following:
- math skills (from basics through algebra)
- reading comprehension (at the 10th grade level) for science textbooks
- a reading rate exam
- an evaluation of test-taking skills
- a stress level profile
- a social interaction profile
- learning style evaluation

Scores Required
A minimum composite score of 60 on the reading section and 65 on the math section for entrance into the nursing program.

Cost
The fee to students will be $40.00. The fee to have results sent to Adelphi from prior testing centers/dates will be $40.00.

Registration
Students will register for the NET by calling ERI (1.800.292.2273) between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, Central Standard Time.
They need to ask for the customer service group. (Students call the same number if they need results of previous NET testing forwarded to Adelphi)
Registration process:
- Student calls the 1.800.292.2273
- Student will provide the following information:
- Full Name
- Address
- Social Security Number
- Email
- Phone Number
- School where they will be taking the test
- Date when they will be taking the test
- Student provides payment via credit card- card name/number/expiration/ security code on the back of card
- ERI processes invoice of credit card
- ERI sends student a confirmation letter - required to present at test site with a photo ID
- ERI sends map of the School Campus if available from the school and Parking information (i.e. location, fees, etc)
- ERI provides Examiner with roster of students that registered for the NET
- NO payments at the door will be accepted
- Students may register up to 5 days before the examination date without incurring a late fee. A late fee of $10.00 will be charged for late registration.

Score reports will be sent directly to Adelphi about a week after the exam.

For Fall 2008 Applicants
- Saturday, March 15, 2008 - Garden City
- Sunday, March 30, 2008 - Manhattan
- Saturday, April 19, 2008 - Manhattan
- Sunday, May 4, 2008 - Garden City
- Sunday, June 8, 2008 - Garden City
- Saturday, June 21, 2008 - Garden City
Students may not test on both June 8th and June 21st.
These will be the only dates offered for Fall 2008 applicants.
Students may not test at any alternate test sites unless they are out of state residents. Adelphi University School of Nursing clearance is required in these instances.

The NET Study Guide will help you with specific test taking skills for the Nurse Entrance Test (NET). Practice tests, which have been modeled to simulate the Entrance Exams are designed to provide you good practice and test taking skills. (paperback - 156pgs). The study guide book is available at the Adelphi bookstore in the UC on campus (the link is below for directions and store hours of operation).
The price of the book is approximately $30.00
