Our advanced post-master’s certificate programs were designed for students who already hold a master’s degree in nursing and provide an educational route to specialize in an area other than the concentration in their master’s program.
The post-master’s certificates in nursing strengthen the administrative or clinical capability of master’s-prepared nurses who are planning on or are already involved in a role expansion or change. You might be a clinical specialist who is moving into an administrative or nurse practitioner role or a nurse whose major was teaching and now wishes to become a nurse practitioner.
The program is individualized to each applicant based on past experience. It is a part-time course of study that includes between 21 and 33 credits of course work. The post-master’s certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the required courses. Prior graduate courses are evaluated for possible advanced standing in the certificate program.
