Adelphi University School of Nursing has an illustrious and proud history.  For close to 65 years time it has educated over 7500 dedicated and highly respected nursing professionals from all over the world. As a proud alumnus of this school, I know we are a leader in nursing education and prepare leaders for this profession. The School of Nursing has partnerships with prestigious health care facilities and providers throughout the New York metropolitan region that help us prepare the future of nursing.

We offer a complete range of studies including baccalaureate master and Ph.D. programs.  Our talented and scholarly faculty work diligently in providing our students with cutting edge, innovative curriculum that meets the highest standards in teaching, scholarship, research and practice.  They prepare and create future practitioners. Our nursing curricula prepare future and practicing nurses to meet the demands of the challenging healthcare field and provide opportunities to learn to care for patients in a variety of health care settings.  These health care settings include hospitals, ambulatory care settings, community agencies, long-term care facilities and other places where health care is being delivered.  Our students receive cutting edge and valuable first-hand experience that enhances opportunities for employment upon completion of their studies.

This is an exciting time to be at the Adelphi University School of Nursing. In addition to our programming in Garden City, we also offer programs on site with our clinical partners and at our Manhattan Center in downtown Manhattan, New York accommodating over 1400 students.  With the addition of our computerized patient simulators, increasing development of our technology-based learning systems, and our recently improved and renovated nursing laboratories, we offer cutting-edge education to both practicing and future nurses in our area.  We welcome you to call us, come and visit and see all the exciting things that are happening here at the school of nursing as we begin to help you achieve your professional career goals.

Best regards and thanks for thinking of us,

Patrick R. Coonan, R.N., B.S. ’78, Ed.D., CNAA
